Memati
Memati
This morning I left home with some crafting stuff and went to Vian and Nisreen’s house for a while. Their mother went to work outside the home and the four of them are home. I suggest decorating tins with pieces of wood. Memati finds the glue guns really interesting so he wants to make a tin too. The little guy got through the eye of the needle 2 days ago. He had filled the water cooler with water himself and accidentally sprayed it over the engine. While he was standing in a puddle of water, he got the full blast of electricity through him. After being knocked out for 6 hours, he gradually came round. After another half day he recognized his family again. Fortunately, his body started working again thanks to a blood transfusion. His kidneys took a big hit, but fortunately they are both working again. He has slept a lot, he says, so he can go for it again. He starts gluing cheerfully. He is very happy that he can also participate in the summer program in the center. Two days later he is nowhere to be seen when I come to pick him up. An hour and a half later I see him on the side of the road as I drive away from the centre. He walked to the centre and has already walked 4 km in the blazing sun. He wanted to come so badly, and decided to go for a walk since he missed the bus. The doctor’s advice to take it easy and stay out of the sun fell on deaf ears.
Vian and Nisreen have taken up embroidery. They really enjoy it and are happy to earn some extra money this way. Now that the girls are busy with the ’embroidery bag business’ they also regularly come to my house. Memati is often there too. He is busy with the cars and tries to make friends with the dogs who are a bit afraid of him when the cars fly through the room. I read the book about Ruby and her worries together with Nisreen. I see that she is absorbing the story. It’s about sharing your worries with someone you can trust… Mimati wants a story too, of course, he really enjoys the time together. The scared dog is snuggled up against me and Memati on the other side with the book.
Aleen
Aleen jumps for joy when she hears that she can also come to the center. We are eating together. In between, Aleen keeps repeating how happy she is, mommy I am so happy that I can join in, just as happy as if I am going to emigrate to Australia., mommy I am going to bed on time tonight so that I can get up on time tomorrow and be ready when the bus comes. Even when I meet her the next day in the center, her enthusiasm is unstoppable. She joins in with the songs with great dedication and also during ‘chat time’ she plays along nicely with her neighbor girls. Recently, teacher Jineyt met one of the parents of the children. He said, “My children now speak English to each other while eating. They are practicing the conversations. I asked them where they learned that. I think it is really good that they learn to speak English with you, they don’t learn that at school. “
